Senior Software Engineer







Location :-This position is located in Simsbury CT.



Contract to Hire

Purpose of Position



Client is looking for someone with strong C++ development skills and
experience writing SOAP/XML Web Services for an embedded environment.

This position will be heavily involved in the development of new
features for a large international project.



Background and Skills



Scrum and Agile processes to deliver software projects. Scrum teams
work within a lean environment of constant improvement. This role
will be responsible for developing new software functionality:







Must Have







* BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Equivalent



* Specific knowledge of C, C++ with Windows and Linux using

VS (Cross Platform development experience)



* Experience in designing and writing code for Web Services

in C++; 2-3 years with specific knowledge of IPv4 protocols and Web Services



* Experience with Apache and Soap Server



* Specific knowledge of embedded programming



* Experience with Object Oriented Design and XML schema



* Strong knowledge of software engineering, both practical

and theoretical: >10 years of applicable experience



* 5+ years of experience in software product development



* Prior Experience working with Embedded Systems



* Development Experience with Linux and Windows platforms



* Experience in designing and developing layered software

applications for real time systems



* Specific knowledge with Google Web Toolkit (GWT) and Java

Development



* Development in a Linux build environment, including

UNIX/Linux shell/Perl scripting



* Ability to understand and work in a large code base (2 Million LOC)



* Specific knowledge of GUI/Windows programming







Should Have







* 2+ years working in a Scrum / Agile environment



* Specific knowledge of real time programming. The

knowledge of good code design practices. The skill to create cohesive
maintainable programs that will run in a real time environment



* Experience with designing and writing code to meet specifications



* Experience working with Scrum Management Tools (e.g. JIRA)



* Experience with SVN, SharePoint, MS Office,



* Experience in testing/verification on target hardware







Nice To Have







* Experience with defining user interface requirements



* Specific knowledge of IBM PC/Compatible programming
