Job Description:
Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements web based and server based software. Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems. Participates in the testing process through test reviews and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and minimum 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under limited supervision, self-guided efforts and team collaboration.
Desired Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must be able to comprehend the "big picture'' from an architectural design stand point and to be able to make meaningful contributions based on his or her previous experience. The candidate must have project experience with the key* technologies the team uses. An appreciation for writing good unit and integration tests is essential. Recent, "new development" experience is also required.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or MIS or equivalent work experience
Experience:
• 5+ years' experience with Java development
• Demonstrated experience with Java web development (in servlet spec 2.5 or>), Spring MVC*, ORMs (Hibernate/JPA), MyBatis experience a plus and the ability to support J2EE style applications is required
• Working knowledge of SOAP and Restful* web services
• Experience working with database structures in Oracle 11g or >, MS SOL experience a plus
• Experience writing JUnit unit and integration tests*
• Experience with Continuous Integration concepts and supporting build tools such as Maven* and Jenkins/Hudson
• Basic Linux knowledge* required
• Solid understanding of Object Oriented analysis, design, and programming methodology
• Knowledge and experience working with JavaScript, JOuery* & CSS
• Experience in applying best practices, design patterns and following Java coding standards.
