Job Description:

Functions as the primary technical architect for data warehousing projects to solve business intelligence challenges

Possesses deep technical expertise in database design, ETL (OWB), reporting, and analytics 

Previous consulting experience utilizing an agile delivery methodology

     - Participate in and/or lead BI application development efforts

     - Interface with stakeholders to elicit reporting requirements and will translate requirements into BI solutions 

     - Design or alter ETL scripts, data models, reports, dashboards, visualizations, etc.

     - Work with technical teams regarding data structures, data flows, and implementation details.

     - Mentor and guide BI development resources through design, development and support activities

     - Support and enhance existing BI services while working on formal projects in a cross functional team environment

Strong conceptual, analytical, and decision-making skills

Knowledge and Experience of dimensional modeling

Strong knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL

Proficiency in creating PL/SQL packages

Full SDLC and Data Modeling experience

Ability to create both logical and physical data models

Ability to tune databases for maximum performance

Experience in Data Preparation: Data Profiling, Data Cleansing, and Data Auditing

Ability to work with Business Analysts to create functional specifications and data

Manages QA functions

Develops unit, system, and integration test plans and manages execution

Ability to write technical and end-user system documentation

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Experience transforming logical business requirements into appropriate schemas and models

Required Skills:

Bachelor's Degree

3 years ETL experience using Oracle Warehouse Builder ETL tools with at least one OWB project

3 years' experience with ETL processing

3 years' experience utilizing data warehousing methodologies and processes

     o    Deep knowledge of the MicroStrategy suite of applications (version 9.x) from both a development and administration perspective

Knowledge of databases (Teredata, Oracle 11g, and Microsoft SQL), SAS, and data warehouse concepts and techniques 

     o    Experience in taking data extracts / flat files and building various visualization options using the MicroStrategy tool suite

Job Title: Business Intelligence Developer 

Location: Nashville, TN

Duration : 9 Years

 

Responsibilities:

Design and develop Data Warehouse reporting and other BI solutions.

Create models for new data warehouse development and/or changes to existing data stores.

Coordinate and work with other technical staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures.

Work with end users to identify, create, and deliver reports according to requirements.

Identify inefficiencies and gaps in current Business Intelligence/ data warehouses and leverage solutions.

Identify data discrepancies and data quality issues, and work to ensure data consistency and integrity.

Monitor system details within the data warehouse, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.

Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective availability, protection, and integrity of data assets.

Develop estimates for data migration between development, test, and production systems, and plan and coordinate these migrations.

Conduct research and make recommendations on Business Intelligence products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.

Evaluate, recommend, and select Business Intelligence components, including hardware, database management systems, ETL (extract, transform, load) software, data mining tools, and meta data management tools.

 

Required Education/Experience: 

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information systems, or computer engineering; or a minimum of 4 years related experience in lieu of degree in addition to required experience;  Any combination of education and experience will be considered. 

4 years experience designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting multi-terabyte data warehouses with database platforms, including Oracle. 

3 years experience working with BI reporting and dashboard tools, (e.g. Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Microstrategies, Cognos, Etc…) 

Extensive knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and query tools (e.g. SQLPlus, Toad, etc.). 

Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices. 

Knowledge of database systems and ETL software tools including best practices and methodologies. 

Strong data analysis, data architecture and data modeling experience and familiarity with data modeling design tools (e.g. Erwin, PowerDesigner, ERStudio, etc.). 

Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle methodology as adopted by the organization. 

Excellent technical architecture and technical support documentation skills. 

Displays strong written and oral communication skills, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Location: Scottsdale, AZ  

Duration : 3 Months with strong potential for extension

Experience with Spring, Hibernate (or other JPA libraries), Ehcache, and Terracotta/Coherence.
