JOB DESCRIPTION:
• NetApp experience (SnapShot, SnapMirror, SnapRestore, ASUP, Upgrades, De-Duplication, SnapVault, Operations Manager, Testing, HW/SW Installation, Operations Manager, De-Duplication, Documentation, Backup Software, ASUP Grab, Storage Capacity Management, Performance Testing.) working with ONTAP 7.X and 8.x
• Netapp certifications (NetApp Certified Storage Associate (NCSA) or NetApp Certified SAN Implementation Engineer) will be added advantage.
• Knowledge of SAN fabrics, CISCO and Brocade experience
• Knowledge of NAS - NFS, NAS - CIFS, Experience with NetApp VSC and SMVI
• Installation and configuration of a cluster into a SAN and NAS environment
• Knowledgeable in other products: NetApps, Fujitsu, Hitachi, HP and IBM is added advantage.
• Experienced in storage virtualization with an understanding of, Array based virtualization.
• Storage consolidation Replication and Migration (including array based and host based) experience)
• Strong knowledge of backup and recovery management solutions
• Demonstrable experience of product management, solutions management or commercial marketing
• Audit various backup environments from time to time and ensure integrity of backup and recovery setups and activities.
• Document and implement changes to technical standards as and when required.
• Ensure Optimum Performance of Backup architecture.
• Capacity planning for global backup system with the help of historical data which includes analysis and suggestions for improvement.
• Experience/ Exposure to implementation of VTL (Virtual Tape Library).
• Working knowledge of NetApp Filer. NetApp VTL, cloning and export of VTL tapes, PureDisk 6.6
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to translate IT technical language into everyday terms which users can understand, specifically non-technical senior management
• Ability to interact with customers so as to ensure that the service is flexible, efficient and responsive
• To work through issues analytically to a successful conclusion
• Demonstrable results in a business customer facing role, with a track record of delivering services to defined service levels.
• Experience in the management of multi-discipline teams in distributed locations.
• Experience of working in an Operational environment alongside other technical and operational teams, ensuring that all parties collaborate effectively to deliver services.
• Use of ITIL service management framework to deliver best practice capabilities for TNT.
• Proven ability to deliver improvements that deliver greater value to the customer and business through more efficient delivery and/or lower costs.
