Position: Data Analyst
Location: Mclean, VA

Data Analyst: The Data Analyst will lead and perform complex analysis in an evolving data environment. In addition to very strong technical skills, this position will have superb business process analysis and interpersonal skills. The ability to extract and analyze data, patterns, and related trends is needed, with the subsequent ability to synthesize the data into information consumable by senior business decision makers. Experience with gathering system requirements, developing functional design documents, and testing is preferred.
Accountabilities and Deliverables include but are not limited to:
1. Provide data profiling and data analysis for new integrated releases
2. Identify data anomalies and recommend fixes
3. Perform data analysis to identify gaps in existing data and processes and recommend solutions
4. Review business process flows, requirements, test scenarios, and test cases to confirm they are in alignment with upstream/downstream data.
5. Coordinate with IT Data team(s) to confirm that appropriate and applicable data standards are identified, adhered to, and maintained
6. Manage Production Issues, ensuring timely validations, remediations and / or resolutions
Skill level: Analyst
Skills: Technical - Proficient in SQL Server, Microsoft Office; Working familiarity with tools such as DB2 SQL, XML Schemas, HP ALM and Rational Doors
Analytical - Ability to work with large amounts of data: facts, figures, and number crunching
Communication - Effective verbal and written communicator; Strong attention to detail; Must be a self-starter who is productive with minimal direction
Problem Solving - Applies critical thinking skills to help team and customer solve issues, taking into account impacts to goals. Identifies, communicates, escalates, and resolves issues and risks associated with the projects
Education & Experience - College Degree or equivalent experience; Scrum Master Certification a plus
