Job Description:

The primary objective of this contract work is twofold: (1) to review current setup of District Oracle 11g environment and recommend improvements needed based on industry best practices; (2) to work with District staff on the development of the first Application Express system. Through this process, District staff will get the hands-on experience necessary to continue building applications using this development tool.

Scope of Work:

This assignment consists of (but not limited to) the following areas:

·         Work with District end users and technical staff to develop a Real Estate records management system using Application Express

·         Review current configuration of 11g environment and make recommendations to conform to best practices.

·         Provide weekly status report to manager

·         Provide knowledge transfer to technical staff

·         Update technical and user documentation

Required Skills:

Candidate must possess a demonstrated knowledge of software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations.

·         Expert skill level with Oracle Application Express framework (4.2) and PL/SQL

·         Knowledge of Installation and Configuration of Oracle APEX

·         Design & Implementation of complex data models (logical and physical) in Oracle 11g

·         Design, development and testing of packages, procedures, functions, views and triggers

·         Strong Javascript, jQuery and General software development

·         Experience with Oracle Integrated Development Environments such as Quest Toad and Oracle SQL Developer.

·         Experience implementing single sign on using active directory

·         Provide documentation on database schema design and code

·         Provide training to in house development staff

 

Candidates must be familiar with the following System Environment:

·         Hardware Platforms: Intel based Windows Servers

·         Operating systems: Microsoft Windows 2008

·         Database: Oracle 11g

·         Tools: Application Express, Quest.
