Job Description:
The Business Analyst is a liaison between IT applications, software developers, and business users. The ideal candidate can quickly learn the capabilities and limitations of custom software applications and equally quickly understand what the business really needs from these programs. The candidate must possess impeccable communication skills, diplomatic interpersonal skills, and a strong technical background. You'll be applying these skills to diagnose tough data related problems for users, recommend innovative ways to resolve issues, debug production problems, collect/document requirements for software enhancements, and write / execute test plans to deliver quality software products. The candidate must have strong organizational skills to be able to multitask effectively and to ensure proper follow-up with both the customer and other IT team members.
Responsibilities:
· Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
· Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
· Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: (Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), iii. Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs)
· Utilize your experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies required.
· Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
· Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of project managers
· Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
· Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
· Serve as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.
· Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
· Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
· Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
Requirements:
· 5 years experience OR Bachelors Degree
· Proven computer skills in Microsoft suite - Excel, MS Access, Powerpoint, Word
· Strong Teaming skills with the ability to lead, direct and manage
· Strong oral, analytical and written communication skills
· End to End business scenarios for the development of test cases and execution
· Knowledge transfer: provide knowledge to offshore to develop test cases and/or execution
· Scope or project change: informing offshore of any changes reflecting project
· Review and verify the quality of deliverables/milestones to meet the program expectations.
· Review artifacts developed by offshore for validating quality based on defined reference.
· Strong knowledge of web applications, client server applications, legacy applications, and database concepts
· 2+ years of system documentation experience
· 2+ years of SQL experience - ability to write and run complex queries, analyze database structure, and write inside/outside joins
· 2+ years of Web based application experience (how they function, familiarity with .Net framework 2.0 or better)
· 2+ years of Use Case experience
