Job Description:
10 years as a COGNOS Consultant
Mandatory Technical /Functional Skills:
· Lead, design and develop BI solutions using Cognos BI 10.x and Cognos Statistics
· Performance management and best practices for Cognos reporting and modeling
· Maintaining and augmenting the FM and Transformer Models
· Troubleshoot and resolve the applications or integrations issues
· Cognos based work estimates and work planning
· Architecting Cognos multi-dimensional cube solutions
· Design and implement a robust security architecture which will include both row level security and object security
· Developing Framework Manager models by leveraging Cognos recommended design techniques
· Development and enhancement of Cognos Portal through SDK
· SunOne LDAP or Microsoft Active Directory development with JNDI
· Relational and Dimensional database design for Oracle, Sql Server
· Communicate clearly and effectively with the development teams, management and business users
· Assign development tasks and monitor, improve, and report on the Cognos development process / progress
· Structured and lateral thinking in order to provide multiple options and recommend the best suited option
· Assist project manager in preparing time estimates and justification for assigned tasks
· Data modeling, data architecture and analytics
· Designing and developing standard reporting and ad-hoc reporting environments
· Customer engagement, interpersonal, presentation and overall communication (written and verbal)
Desirable Technical /Functional Skills:
· Experience in SQL and related skills
· Implementation of security in the Cognos environment
