Mid-level SAP BASIS Administration and Security Specialist; to be responsible for planning, configuration, implementation and support planning and documentation of long-range requirements and policies, operational guidelines, access controls, backup and recovery. Tune databases and SQL statements; Perform quality control audits; provide training to other SAP Basis / DBA resources and developer teams for business process and functional design, system configuration, issue troubleshooting, work estimation and coordination of activities on ERP-related sustainment and project efforts. The role works closely with business stakeholders and domain experts, Technology staff, and the SAP support vendor. The SAP Administrator installs support packs, conducts upgrades, backups/recovery, system refresh and troubleshooting as well as administers databases, conducts failover of production systems, and monitors and ensures performance of SAP systems. The candidate should have experience in Web Portal (HR portals) and SOA, ECC 6.0, Business Intelligence, Enterprise Portal, Solution Manager and other SAP applications to meet expanding business requirements.
Specific functions include:
Installation, upgrades, patching, administration, system copies, performance tuning, and monitoring of SAP (ECC 6.0) applications.
Work with Integration builder (Integration repository, integration directory), Integration engine, and runtime workbench.
Handle message-level security and deal with third-party adapter. Like BizTalk, Sabrix.
Configuring End to end SSL, Proxy and ISS servers.
Forecast landscape growth and proactively size the hardware to handle increasing data volume.
Prepare architectural design and specifications.
Perform system configuration and support Unit testing.
Support end-user community, respond to help desk calls and trouble tickets, work with vendors to resolve HW and SW problems.
Maintenance of multi-landscape environments through client copies, system refreshes, and transport management.
Practical experience interfacing to Third party technologies such as Sabrix, Business Objects.
Research and implement solutions for Basis functionality in the areas of performance monitoring, tuning, and systems configuration using the SAP Best Practice outlined.
Contribute technically to team objectives and integrate new technology into the team.
Provide Basis technical support to ABAP developers, functional team, DBA, Help desk support personnel, and other support groups to resolve system issues.
Provides assistance in developing and implementing proper security measures in order to provide data integrity and confidentiality of information.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills; Work across functional support areas to tune SAP Applications for optimal performance.
Evaluate enterprise-wide SAP application systems and develop detailed analysis reports and recommendations for business critical systems.
Administering system schedules including Backups, downtime, client copies, and upgrades.
Technologies including Servers (such as Wintel), Storage, DB2, UNIX, SAP Basis, Web Methods, Sabrix, Backups, and Printers.
Qualifications required:
BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.
SAP certification will be given preference.
Ability to work in matrixed environment.
Ability to solve complex application problems through research and technical detective work.
Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly.
Ability to quickly adapt to changes in timelines and sequences.
Requirements:
Must have a degree with 4 - 8 years of SAP Basis experience in a medium- to large-sized environment with a strong PI focus.
Experience in handling message-level security and dealing with third-party adapter.
Implementation with SAP Biz Talk middleware and Sabrix.
Expertise in configuring XI sender receiver adapters - Web Services, FTP, File, RFC, XI, JMS, JDBC, IDOC, SOAP, Mail and HTTP.
Maintenance of SAP interfaces.
Installation and Configuration of new interfaces for various complex scenarios
Modifications and support for existing interfaces and data flows
Troubleshooting, error handling and corrections.
Provide support for hardware, software, and/or network connectivity problems.
Work closely with Development and Functional teams in resolving application issues.
Strong Basis experience in installation, upgrades (including EHP4), patching, administration, system copies, performance tuning, and monitoring of SAP applications
