Title: Sr. InfoSphere MDM Developer
Location: San Diego, CA
Duration: Long term
The candidate must be able and willing to travel based on assigned project demands throughout the County of San Diego.
The Specialist level of Service Information Developer is expected to apply advanced subject matter knowledge to:
• Solve complex business issues, and is regarded as a subject matter expert.
• Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods.
• Works on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
• Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.
• Leads and provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross functional initiatives.
• May provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.
• Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies.
• Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients.
Education & Experience requirements of Service Info Developer III are:
• First level University degree and 7 years of experience plus two years of developing, engineering or related IT experience.
• IBM InfoSphere MDM registry style design & development experience.
• Java programming skills with adequate knowledge of Object Oriented technology is an essential skill for the position.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience working within Agile managed projects preferred.
Skills Required:
• Hands on experience designing and developing MDM solutions using IBM InfoSphere MDM platform 10.0, standard edition.
• Experience with multi domain registry implementations.
• Extensive experience in creating messaging and web services on IBM InfoSphere ESB platform.
• Experience with an appliance based RDBMS i.e. Netezza.
• Unix and/or other scripting experience.
• Understanding of MDM concepts, process, algorithms and capabilities.
• Experience with large scale MDM systems IBM (AE 11 preferred), Informatica, SAP, Oracle.
• Should be proficient in Java/J2EEE/Web services and be able to integrate the InfoSphere MDM with other applications.
• Should have knowledge of EAI, SOA and ETL data integration methods.
• Has analytical thinking, conceptual thinking and problem solving capabilities.
• Be able to work with both non-technical and technical client community to accurately define data requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement physical MDM with party model.
• Good communication and presentation skills and must have the ability to work with people in various groups and departments.
• Must be a team player and be able to lead and mentor other members in the team.
• Proven ability to manage delivery across a matrix organization.
• Excellent Client Relationship skills, representing the delivery team and ensuring that the project is delivered to commitments.
• Experience in designing large scale Information Technology (IT) solutions and providing guidance to development teams.
• Speaks with authority to most layers of depth related to InfoSphere MDM Development practices.
Job Responsibilities:
• Client is looking for an InfoSphere MDM Developer to meet the client's business requirements and needs.
• The candidate should have extensive experience in InfoSphere Master Data Management and Rational Application Developer tool set.
• The selected candidate will work as development team member on various projects on MDM platform and will be expected to work independently with little or no supervision.
• The project work would involve extending MDM model, building custom transactions, building web services and similar development activities.
• Java programming skills with adequate knowledge of object oriented technology is an essential skill for the position.
• In addition, the person will also need to have critical thinking and debugging skills to be able to support the application in various environments.
• The candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Coordinate technical efforts of other IT groups and external vendors to ensure effective development, modification, testing and implementation of systems to meet customer needs.
