Role: Solutions Architect (Database)
Location: 100 Gold St., 8th floor, New York, New York 10038
Duration: 10+ Months
SCOPE OF SERVICES
In the role of the Solution Architect, the following services are required:
1. Leads in the planning, design and development of the core technology and architecture of large‐scale distributed systems, midrange to client server and n‐tier applications and solutions.
2. Well versed in UML, design patterns and solutions across multiple platforms and frameworks.
3. Well versed in components and service designing.
4. Leads in the design and development of the database architecture including information and relational data structures, data marts, data dictionaries and logical and physical data models.
5. Well versed in data migration strategies using Middleware, ETL strategies as required.
6. Assist to develop strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, integration and implementation enterprise databases.
7. Assist in migration and integration of data and processes from legacy systems to new applications and new technologies inclusive of cloud based and big data solutions.
8. Assists in the development of information systems blueprints, design patterns, templates for best‐in‐class software development and to ensure high levels of software re‐use and the migration towards service‐oriented architecture (SOA).
9. Develop processes and procedures that allow the agency to fully exploit its data assets.
10. Documents and communicates the architecture to all levels of the organization, including data architects, application developers and management.
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered.
Eight or more total years of prior experience demonstrating the following knowledge and skills:
1. Experience in data modeling and database development.
2. Experience in SOA architecture and middleware preferably using IBM MQ.
3. Experience with the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET integrated development environment, including development, debugging and deployment.
4. Experience in cloud based solutions using dynamics, sales force etc.
5. Experience in mobile solutions based on IOS, android, windows etc.
6. UI/UX experience with angular, jQuery and java scripts
7. Experience with frameworks like entity, unity etc.
8. Experience in Java development using struts, ejb
9. Expertise with traditional HTML editors, such as those found in Visual Studio as well as experience with other GUI-related development tools.
10. Experience with XML and related technologies and standards, such as the development of schema definitions (XSD), XML parsing and the development of XSLT.
11. Experience with the use, design and implementation of SOAP XML constructs as required for exchanging structured and typed information between peers in a decentralized, distributed environment.
12. Experience in the design, development, deployment and maintenance of web services using Microsoft .NET Visual Basic language constructs.
13. Experience in the development and deployment of web applications using traditional web languages, such as Style Sheets, HTML, DHTML and XML.
14. Experience with code control/version management software, such as SourceSafe, PVCS or a generic CVS.
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: - Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered
1. Big data and Hadoop skills
2. ETL skills on products like Informatica, SSIS.
