Job Description:

 

As Software Configuration Management Engineer, of IT Division you will contribute significantly in maintaining the high standards in innovative technology and focus on transformation. This position is a hands-on role responsible for understanding how configuration management and releases take place currently in the organization and collaborating with the Technical Architects, PM, Development and QA teams to define and implement processes and systems, in order to eliminate risks in software deployments. You will be directly responsible for establishing standards relating to source control, continuous integration, and SDLC life cycle management of build artifacts including build and deploy across multiple environments. You will work closely with Application teams as well as Platform Engineering team to ensure that all build artifacts and assets are secured within common repositories as well as to implemented within the existing or planned frameworks and platform.

 

• Implement and manage the build, integration, and release process.

 

• Define, Develop, Implement and manage the standards and best practices for all middleware integration capabilities involving automated builds, continuous integration with SDLC tools.

 

• Serve as the gatekeeper for source code and system deployments; establish controls and processes around these functions.

 

• Implement version control of all deliverable artifacts as well as contribute to CM team goals and backlog.

 

• Setup and configure source code management tool GIT as well as configure repositories and provisions to developers for using GIT

 

• Develop automated builds for multiple middleware technologies including Tibco, Informatica, Java (J2EE) and .NET applications using Jenkins/Maven/Ant

 

• Configure automated builds/continuous integration using Jenkins

 

• Migrate current application code that is stored within TFS (Microsoft Team Foundation Server) to Brinker Enterprise Standards.

 

• Provide guidance and manage tools associated with development and configuration management.

 

• Become the owner to create and manage the development operations stack definition as well as establish processes around the software development lifecycle for build and deploy across the enterprise.

 

• Establish common services and processes that can be leveraged across all domains of business applications.

 

• Work closely with the Infrastructure Engineering teams and Enterprise Architecture to solution and implement provisioning platform components as a service to application teams

 

• Provide Input into and creation of technology strategic plans and roadmaps relating to software configuration management tools, technologies and processes

 

 

Related experience:

 

 

• Minimum of 5 years of configuration management/release engineering experience.

 

• Must have Skill Set: GIT, Maven, Ant, Jenkins, Nexus

 

• Prior knowledge and experience of Microsoft TFS and migrating or integrating TFS with GIT is highly desirable

 

• Extensive, demonstrable experience developing scripts and tools to automate the software deployment processes using tools such as Ant, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, PowerShell, shell scripts (Bash, etc.).

 

• Experience in configuring and deploying J2EE applications.

 

• Experience with provisioning software such as Puppet, RHEL Satellite Services, AWS OpsWorks preferred

 

• Knowledge of administering multiple operating systems (Windows and Linux) preferred.

 

• Experience with cloud-based deployments desirable.

 

• Self-starter, highly motivated, passionate, enthusiastic and "CAN-DO" attitude.

 

• Strong presentation and communications skills to make both strategic and tactical recommendations and effectively communicate with program/domain partners and service partners (internal and external).
