Linux Build engineer
Location: North Austin (Wells Branch and Mopac)
6 month renewable contract
$35/hr on C2C

Job Description:
This position will be to support the HP separation and the migration taking place. You will be supporting users with an SCM migration (setting up users, migrating source code, etc.). They are working with multiple layers of Linux (Ubuntu/Debian and CentOS/RedHat), build automation tools (they are using Electric Commander, but even familiarity with bamboo or Junit would suffice as well). You wouldn't necessarily be doing build automation, it will be from the system level on the backend working with source code. If you do have any background in virtualization (HyperV, ESX, KVM), or scripting (Bash, or Python), that would be good to bring up, or brush up on before the interview. They are using confluence for wiki so please be sure to familiarize yourself with that as well.
Technical skills:
Strong Linux skills (particularly with Ubuntu and CentOS/RedHat)
Experience supporting development environments
Experience with SVN, Gerrit, and source code management in genera- (they do not have to understand source code AT ALL, they just have to have SUPPORTED/MAINTAINED an SCM tool (such as SVN/Subversion, GIT, Gerrit, Checkin/Checkout, etc.)
Ability to work closely with developers to setup environment and assist migrating source code.
Experience with build automation tools (e.g. Electric Commander)
Project mgmt. skills:
Professional/end-user support skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects
Assist users with migrations
Experience with wiki tools (ideally confluence)
