Network/Security Engineer - McAfee, Blue Coat, Linux environment

 

This role will work remotely.  There will be time spent the first 2-3 weeks in Hartford, CT with occasional visits to Hartford thereafter.    This person CANNOT live in CT due to Aetna's preference.  It would be great if they are from neighboring states, otherwise we can conduct a national search.
One of our largest clients is planning changes to its internal network and is looking for a network engineer to provide support for specific activities associated with the planned changes.  A Network Engineer with strong background planning, installing, configuration and supporting proxy server infrastructure is needed to implement current support standards following a change in business requirements.  The Engineer will work in conjunction with the client's current network engineering team to develop, install, and support the new network structure.
This role is expected to include the following activities:
Work with client resources to determine requirements for the new proxy environment for a Fortune 500 company.  The environment is expected to use McAfee Proxy Appliances.
Provide recommendations for the design of the infrastructure and assist in the purchase and installation of required hardware and software
Configure the new infrastructure to meet client requirements and work with the existing network
Manage the new network following migration to production.
Provide second and third level support for all firewall and proxy systems.
Provide resolution for periodic service requests and incidents.
Skills needed for this role are:
Experience with McAfee proxy appliances in large enterprise environment required. Experience with Blue Coat proxies highly desirable.
Experience implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining explicit proxy with Active Directory integration required.  Experience with transparent proxy highly desirable.
Experience with reading and interpreting packet captures, syslogs required.  Experience with enterprise logging systems such as Splunk required.
Team oriented – must be able to work closely with network engineers, firewall engineers, systems administrators, and web engineers.
