50% - Database Analysis work

Keys to this Position
1. 8+ years of IT experience with at least 3 years working as an Oracle Database Analyst / Architect. This is a hands-on role that will work closely with Development Managers to ensure that their applications are running efficiently and are in compliance with the existing data standards.
2. Strong technical skills in Oracle database design, analysis, implementation and tuning (currently in 11G/12C). Cloud experience is strongly preferred
3. Oracle RAC 11G experience is required. Hexadata experience is a plus
4. Strong analytic ability in Database configuration, Data Architecture, Data Integration, Data Distribution, Data Quality and Data Accessibility.
5. Working knowledge in various database design schemes, 3NF (Third Normal Form), dimensional and hybrid. Capable to design conceptual, logical and physical data models. Solid experience in ER/Studio or comparable modeling tools.
6. Experience in financial trading systems geared towards high volume and low latency requirements and Familiarity with the information life cycle of Equity and/or Fixed Income trading data would be a nice to have
7. Hands-on experience in SQL and PL/SQL coding. Familiar with the technology and methodology of database performance tuning
8. Exposure to Next Generation data platforms, such as cloud based data services (like AWS) and NOSQL databases etc. in a heterogeneous environment is a +.
9. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to articulate and influence. This person needs to demonstrate technical leadership and be a problem solver. They need to be willing to invest the time to do the work the right way the first time.

Job Qualifications:
At least 3 years progressive experience in Database analysis and Data Architecture disciplines, i.e., data architecture, database management and performance tuning.
Proven experience in developing and delivering data-centric financial solutions.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Comprehensive understating of the financial services industry required. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of diverse asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives) data lifecycle.
Solid understanding of transactional and dimensional database systems, including OLTP, ODS, and data warehouse / federated data marts etc.
Working experience in RDBMS, at least 5 year experience in Oracle databases.
Deep understanding of ILM methodology and technology in Financial Services.
Working experience of a variety of tools, technologies and capabilities relating to the creation, dissemination and calculation of financial-related data. Hands-on experience in ETL, CDC and MDM tools and technology.
Working experience in developing data movement/ data integration standards and architecting scalable service oriented solutions.
Working knowledge in Enterprise Service bus (ESB) tools is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain complex technical issues in plain English, and document the Data Architecture for a diverse audiences.
Self-directed and able to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks with minimal supervision.
Self-motivated entrepreneurial personality.
Bachelor's degree in software or systems engineering, computer science, information systems management or the equivalent. Masters is a plus.

1. This is a strong hands-on client side developer with Microsoft technologies. Must have experience with multi-threaded applications. Technical requirement: Solid experience with the .net frameworks version 3.5 or greater, C#, GUI client application developer.
2. We are ideally looking for a Lead developer that can provide technical leadership to a team of 4 (code reviews, technical direction, etc), but a Senior will suffice that has the ability to become a lead. This is a long term role (potential RTH) so we are looking for someone that is looking to take ownership of the work and make an investment in themselves to be a senior member of the team.

- We are seeking 5 plus years of experience with Information Security Risk assessments. The Information Security Risk assessment will affect both external vendor's and internal projects so experience in both areas are highly desired.
- WMC is about to purchase a Governance Risk and Compliance tool so experience with these tools (such as Archer and Agiliance) are desired.
- Excellent communication skills are needed as this individual will interface with business users, outside vendors and IT teams.
