Description:

Genuent is hiring a Java Developer

Java Developer who will be responsible for coding enhancements to and debugging issues in the CIS application. CIS is in the process of being converted / translated from a COBOL / CICS / VSAM mainframe application to a Java / Oracle technology base. The ideal candidate will have extensive proven experience in development and support of Java / Oracle applications and have had some experience with or exposure to IBM Mainframe COBOL / CICS / VSAM technology. The candidate will be expected to be very hands-on and will be developing, designing, debugging and preparing code for deployment as an integral part of the team.

Responsibility/Skills

•             Write technical specifications

•             Develop new and maintain existing functionality using Java and SQL

•             Introduce and leverage new technologies

•             Assure consistent design and development standards

•             Work within a team environment to nurture critical thinking skills

•             Develop automated test scripts

•             Ability to manage several simultaneous development threads and QA threads

•             Ability to work with an on-shore and off-shore team

•             Ability to work within an Agile model

•             Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Technical Experience

•             4 years hands-on experience in Java development, with a minimum of two years working with web services

•             Oracle experience writing database stored procedures and queries using PL/SQL

•             Extensive knowledge of REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, XSLT, XSD and Hibernate

•             Experience with Spring framework

•             Experience with Tomcat or similar application server

•             Working knowledge of Linux environments

•             Experience developing web and other digital based applications

•             A working knowledge of load balancers and high availability architecture

•             Understanding of network architecture including basic routing and virtual IP

Education /Qualifications

BS in Computer Science (preferred), Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a similar technical discipline plus a minimum of 4 years IT experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
