Project Overview
The work primarily involves the understanding the business problems and providing solutions that are technically feasible, aligned with existing enterprise and MyCalPERS architecture and meets the needs of the business users. The consultant(s) will act as a Solution Architect, Application Architect and a Senior Java developer/lead and will be responsible for system defect analysis and resolution; review the design of the other developers to ensure solution meets the solution/architecture guidelines set by AEA unit. Additional duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: performing analytical work; defining technical requirements; creating or updating existing technical design artifacts for online, batch, report and interface processes, business rules, forms; analyzing data and providing SQL data fixes and database structure changes, and participate in implementation and release communication activities.
REQUIRED MIMIMUM SKILLS:
· Must have a minimum of five (5) years' experience performing architecture quality assurance for complex projects and initiatives; performing enterprise applications integration (EAI); defining and developing shared services architectures; designing and developing component architectures; and/or defining enterprise technology architectures; at least three (3) years of said experience must have been at a high level both technically and in measure of responsibility.
· Must be able to analyze data and situations, identify and solve problems, reason logically, draw valid conclusions, and develop effective solutions.
· Must be able to apply creative thinking in the design of methods for processing data.
· Must be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
· Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a variety of audience types using different mechanisms including informal updates, formal presentations, business case documents, and other analytical and technical documents.
DESIRED SKILLS:
· Knowledge of pension systems
· UML Modeling
· Three (3) year experience with Web Services development and design patterns
· Knowledge and experience in integrating/upgrading COTS products like Adobe LiveCycle, Brava Viewer, Oracle Access manager, Oracle Adaptive Access Manager, IBM Cognos with enterprise applications
· Three (3) years of experience with Java Core Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Security.
· Three (3) years of experience in triaging time critical production issues.
· Three (3) years of experience with enterprise application performance tuning.
· Knowledge and experience in writing Complex structured Query Language.
· Strong leadership skills with ability to multi-task, to use tact and to employ good judgment
