Location : Seattle WA

Duration : 6+ Months

Candidates must have at least one Microsoft project under their belt with and at least a few months of experience with cloud project anywhere.  Currently looking for a highly motivated Backend Web Services Developer with significant, practical coding experience and the capability to produce deliverables with an almost 'perfectionistic' level of precision and quality. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced and highly AGILE environments where foresight and quick decision-making skills are critical.

  Project Overview

As a part of an enterprise initiative, there is a small, dynamic team that has been chartered with encouraging the use and cross-pollination of company products through 'guerilla' marketing tactics.  The team has developed an engine for dynamically delivering content to consumers in an effort to deliver on its goals through financial offers and incentives.  The team needs help to deliver on the engineering side of its commitments in accordance with its charter.  

Responsibilities

• Create services enabling storage of multiple data points in a cloud-based DB following the redemption of an offer by a user
• Develop system notification services upon offer redemption through external partner networks
• Develop mechanisms of 'tagging' offers (i.e. attribution) for seamless data collection
• Support engineering by developing backend services for use as internal tools
• Project-manage AGILE-based backend coding projects to ensure delivery both on-time and with quality
• Interface with a group of 11 senior engineering leads to gather requirements and develop sound solutions
• Perform ad-hoc coding projectsas assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

• 7 - 10+ years of coding backend services-based projects at Microsoft or other Fortune 500 companies required
• Working knowledge of web-front end systems desired (previous experience in this area a plus)
• Candidate must have high attention to detail and a passion for accuracy and consistency.
• Candidate must be a results-driven, independent, self-starter with the ability to effectively manage quality when driving multiple projects/tasks. 
• Demonstrated experience in problem solving, especially in the face of ambiguity.
• Strong competency with C# or Java, REST, and Distributed Systems required
• Nice-to-Have's include MongoDB, Redis (or Memcached), SQL, and Cloud Development
• Exceptional coding skills are a must; experience corresponding with large dynamic projects.
• Familiarity with the marketing industry landscape from an engineering perspective is preferred.
