Android Developer:

Location: Seattle, WA

Official Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

 

Rate: $50-$55. If more expensive, will consider

Length: 1 year, great chance of extension

 

Notes:

Position is on the Mobile app development team

Developer will work on customer facing mobile apps

The team itself has apps for a variety of platforms-- iPhone, Droid. Windows Phone, mobile site and APIs

 

They are looking for Android Dev experience and would like to see a couple of years' experience

Also a good engineering background is key.

 

Projects: Several

Their current Android app is 2 years old

Towards the end of this year and into next they're doing a redesign.

The person they bring on will need to work on the architecture that drives it and also create a new UI

 

They also want to add a feature for location—detects where the app is located and then  makes predictions based on traveler's itinerary. To do this, it calls the Google APIs that are available

 

Qualifications:

4 years programming experience

2 years in mobile space

2 years in Android SDK and Java

(More the better)

Apps who are published in the Play Store

Side/ own apps won't work for this manager, even if they're published. He'd like to see Enterprise Applications

Success in published more versions and robust features in one app

 

Not just technical skills

Engineering and Leadership skills

They have less experienced devs on staff, and want a lead for the redesign

Want a good communicator and mentor for the others

 

Interview Process:

Open for Skype Sessions

Phone screen and then Skype Session with Team to Evaluate tech skills

 

 Published Job Description:

 

-B.S. degree in technical discipline or strong background in Computer Science preferred
-Minimum of 4 years strong software engineering experience including at least 2+ year of strong experience in Android SDK and Java
-Minimum of 2 years' experience in mobile application development required
-Must have working experience with Android application development using Eclipse or other IDE
-Working knowledge of Java Script, HTML5, & CSS, XML and JSON preferred
