POSITION OVERVIEW:
· Successful candidates for this Systems Analyst position will have experience working in a higher education environment and an understanding of the tools and technologies used to create highly scalable learning environments. Familiarity with course management systems (CMS) and learning content management systems (LCMS) is essential. The candidate selected for this position be part of a cross-functional team and will lead an initiative to assess current tools and processes related to the curation of learning content and deliver a recommendation for an ideal future state.
· This position requires the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team, handle multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously, and meet established deadlines with minimal oversight. Strong interpersonal communication skills are required, including the ability to convey deep technical information to technical staff and business users alike.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Develop application requirements based on input gathered from a variety of sources including sponsors, key stakeholders, and feedback from the end user community.
● Identify and document existing tools and processes related to learning content
● Evaluate potential solutions though small scale function/technical pilots
● Conduct fit/gap analysis
● Create system process flows and functional designs.
● Develop test conditions and expected results based on the application requirements.
● Execute system tests.
● Develop reports to share progress, disseminate findings, and make recommendations.
● Issue clear, concise, and accurate written and oral communications that are audience appropriate.
● Proactively follow-up on misunderstandings and critical issues.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
● Experience with course management systems (Moodle preferred)
● Experience with learning content management systems
● Experience with software development and IT service delivery methodologies.
● Experience documenting business requirements
● Experience working in a team-focused environment. Demonstrated ability to work closely with others across functional boundaries and varying experience levels.
● Strong interpersonal communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
● Experience with education technologies including course management systems, survey and evaluation systems, student information systems, video or multimedia systems, social media platforms, etc.
● Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with a large and diverse group of stakeholders and identify strategic needs.
● Experience managing small to medium size projects
● Experience with full SDLC and software life cycle management
