Position: Java Developer with Performance & Stress Testing
Location: Nashville, TN
Duration: 4+ month contract
Timeline: Interview and start as soon as possible
This candidate should be a java developer with a strong testing background
Experience with Front End web ui load testing
Experience working with Java and JavaScript
Minimum 2 years' experience of performance and stress testing,
Ability to write Java and JavaScript code from scratch to automate test scripts
Working knowledge of architectural frameworks and methodologies
Broad knowledge of operating systems and software development tools with familiarity with the following technologies a plus:
DHCP,DNS,SOAP
Linux/AIX/Windows OS
Apache/JBoss
Virtualized Environments
MySQL, SQLServer, Oracle database
WebSphere Commerce
LDAP
Configuration of highly available, high capacity network systems
Experience with monitoring tools such as, but not limited to:
Argent Guardian
SolarWinds
Nmon
Nagios/Cacti
Experience writing test plans and test cases, selecting test data.
Experience with JMeter and/or other similar tools
Skills with QA automation testing tools a plus
Experience working with quality assurance and/or user acceptance testing teams
This individual will be responsible for creating and executing performance evaluation and improvement/remediation plans for Java based web applications.
The individual will also be responsible for leading, designing, and implementing systems to perform overall monitoring and reporting capabilities to support system availability analysis, performance tuning efforts, capacity planning, and strategic planning efforts.
Develop scripts to performance test and stress test applications
Develop means of accurately measuring performance improvements in a continuous build environment
Develop tools for analyzing and comparing performance data
Provide stress and performance testing for various technology teams
Provide performance test reporting and troubleshooting
Communicate with management, developers, and business unit personnel to identify and plan for stress testing of software applications and then ensure that these plans are properly implemented and operated.
Work with IT staff to ensure a cohesive process for the consumers of the stress environment, including the duration of testing and the appropriate exit criteria for completion of stress testing
Identify performance-oriented best practices for the development team
Present findings from tests to a group with varying degree of technical experience
Perform stress tests to assess limits on multiple websites
Assist web developers and architects in identifying problem areas in the code
