Position: TV Remote Control Firmware Engineer

Location: Irving, TX

Duration: 6+ Months

 

Job Description:

- Software Development

- Hiring passionate and talented software engineers for the development of cutting-edge consumer electronics products.

- Ideal candidates have a passion for television, home networking, and the user experience, as well as an eye for detail and a drive for quality.

-As an Remote control Firmware Engineer, you will design and implement firmware solutions to provide state of the art remote controls and devices for Verizon customers.

- You will work closely with hardware engineers and vendors to specify remote requirements, develop device applications and integrate and validate vendor frameworks.

- You will participate in low-level bring-up and debugging of new remote devices, and collaborate with hardware and software development teams contributing to a large ecosystem of networked  devices and services.

- In addition, you will stay up to date with the latest local networking and vendor technology roadmaps for standards such as Bluetooth, RF4CE, Zigbee, and IR, and participate in device certification.

- Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

- 5+ years embedded system development experience

- 2+ years working with a RTOS (ThreadX, uC/OS, etc)

- Experience in low-level programming, system architecture, operating systems, and device architecture

- Experience with a logic analyzer and oscilloscope

- Excellent C/C++ development and debugging skills

- Strong computer science fundamentals and communication skills

- Additional Relevant Experience:

- Development of audio libraries, drivers, and/or compression algorithms

- Use of the following technologies: I2C, SPI, USB, UART, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee

- Scripting with PERL or Python

- Power management
