Position: Application Developer or Java developer   Location: Minneapolis, MN  6 months+ contract to hire Interview Mode: F2F Need Only GC/USC/GC EAD/TN/H4 EAD and Local Candidates Only opportunity and candidates must be local to MN and eligible for hire without sponsorship. Below you will find the job description: Application Developer Job Responsibilities: 1. Provide production support of several Priority 1 external facing critical business applications. 2. Work with the on/offshore production support team handling Incident and Problem tickets. 3. Provide on-call support (24x7) during critical issue resolution including war rooms. 4. Ensure overall organizational support goals are met (i.e. SLA, incident/problem reduction, application availability). 5. Perform root cause analysis for permanent resolution of incidents. 6. Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues. 7. For application defects, work with the Business teams to gather requirements, providing status updates and delivering solutions in a timely manner. 8. Develop innovative solutions to meet the Business needs. 9. Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audience. 10. Ability to adjust both written and oral communications to a variety of different audiences. 11. Ability to work independently to complete assigned tasks. Software tools/skills must haves: 1. Hands on experience with Java/J2EE/JSP/JSF Development. 2. Experience with UNIX and Shell Scripting 3. Experience with Developing APIs or Web Services 4. Experience with RDBMS (Oracle or SQL or DB2) 5. Knowledge of SVN or any other Source Code Control Systems 6. Knowledge of XML, SOAP and WSDL 7. Knowledge of Integrated Platform as a service (iPaaS) Technology such as Mule/IIB ESB Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's Degree or HS Diploma/GED with 5 + years of Software Development experience 2. 5 + years of experience with the Software Development including Production Support. 3. Hands on experience with Java/J2EE/JSP/JSF Development. 4. Experience with UNIX and Shell Scripting 5. Experience with Developing APIs or Web Services 6. Experience with RDBMS (Oracle or SQL or DB2) Nice to haves: 1. Experience with WebSphere 2. Experience with Ruby 3. Experience with Waterfall and Agile Methodology 4. Knowledge of Gateway such as Layer 7 or Data Power 5. Experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and JQuery 6. Experience with Mobile Application Development CQ5 7. Experience working with Offshore Teams 8. Exposure to ITIL 9. Healthcare Industry Experience 10. Knowledge of HP ServiceNow or similar tool
