Job Summary:
Candidate will actively develop software as part of the Teradata Deployment and Management Center engineering team. The focus of the Teradata Deployment and Management Center team is to deliver the Teradata suite of technologies into a variety of virtual platforms to expand the reach of our software. The team designs, implements, and tests software to deploy and manage Teradata's UDA solution in the cloud. The candidate will have responsibilities during all phases of the software development life cycle: independently analyzing and enhancing existing designs and implementations or generating new designs and implementations; defining work breakdowns, identifying tasks, generating test plans, test cases, and executing tests to validate software; resolving software issues related to own implementation as well as related implementations; and contributing knowledge of emerging technologies and processes to enhance our Teradata virtualized solutions.

Major Job Functions:
• Serve as part of a team that develops and supports the Teradata Deployment and Management Center software that deploys and manages the Teradata software suite of products
• Gather requirements, document design proposal(s), and align with engineering architects on implementation plans
• Work individually or side-by-side with other team members (as the situation requires) to document, implement, and test software in support of the overall solution
• Develop test plans and test cases and execute test cases associated with the software being developed
• Serve as a peer in technical meetings, regular code reviews, and technical planning meetings
• Ultimately be accountable for the quality of the virtualized Teradata solutions that are developed by the team
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• AWS, Azure, Openstack – Cloud savvy.
• Terraform/Python boto/Python libraries/Ansible for infrastructure
• Restful - flask and flask restful
• Queue management – Rabbit and AMQP
• Mongodb/sqlitedb - Backend
• Celery for task management
• Use of build tools (Gulp, Grunt, Jenkins, etc)
• Git & Github experience (fork or branch model)
• Agile methodology (Scrum, Kanban, Lean)
• Familiarity with fundamental database concepts and operation
• Familiarity with continuous integration concepts and some experience in using CI techniques to improve software quality
• Experience developing automated unit tests as part of software development process
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to work independently when appropriate
• Strong oral and written communication skills
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
• At least seven years of experience designing, developing, and testing software in a business context
Strong candidate with great technical and communications skills needed.
