Position: Network Security Engineer
Location : Raleigh, NC
Duration : 12 months
Required - CISSP, GSEC, GIAC, CEH, Security+, Network+, Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or related information security or network administration certifications
Job Description: This position will be part of a team of data network, information security and systems specialists responsible for security assessment & remediation, standardization of network architecture, implementing change & configuration management, vendor management and compliance focused on these business functions and their related IT services and technologies.
This role requires an experienced IT professional with an exceptional technical background as an network systems (LAN & WAN) and implementation specialist, project management skills, and a proven track record of managing & developing services for an enterprise class IT organization, specifically ITS technologies. Also critical are outstanding organizational skills, excellent business judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to prioritize assignments and work independently.
This position must be able to collaborate effectively with all IT and business teams and staff at all levels, with specific experience translating business requirements into technical solutions, and communicating and marketing those solutions clearly to the business.
Required/Desired Skills:
Required - 10yrs - Progressive experience in computing and network systems administration & design, specifically including experience supporting a large IT enterprise
Required - Experience performing risk analysis, documenting results and guiding best practice implementations for network systems
Required - Experience with information security tools such as IDS/ISP, firewall, AV, packet capture & analysis, malware analysis, SIEM
Required - 10yrs - Knowledge of the TCP and IP protocol suite, related security architectures, and remote access security techniques and products
Required - Knowledge of security frameworks including, but not limited to: OWASP, ISO, and NIST
Required - Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and have the ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of staff and management
Required - CISSP, GSEC, GIAC, CEH, Security+, Network+, Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or related information security or network administration certifications
Required - Understanding of fundamental network services such as DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and HTTPS
Required - Process experience including change management, systems inventory, incident management, project management and service delivery
Required - Demonstrated ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing priority environment, and ability to problem solve using analytical skillsets.
Required - 10yrs - Experience with network traffic capture and analysis
Required - 10yrs - Experience with systems automation such as scripting
Required - 10yrs - Specific senior experience with Cisco Systems networking equipment and software, including LAN switching, LAN & WAN routing, firewalls and WLAN
Desired - Experience performing business continuity planning and disaster recovery analysis, planning, testing and implementation
Highly desired - Specific SIEM experience with IBM Qradar
Highly desired - Specific scan tool experience with Nessus Security Center
Highly desired - Evaluating and developing security hardening for Intelligent Transportation Systems such as highway message boards, video systems and reversible lanes
Highly desired - Experience developing and publishing information security policy, standards and procedures in cooperation with business customers
Highly desired - Evaluating and producing security hardening for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) such as used in industrial, utilities and SCADA systems
Highly desired -Background with intelligent traffic systems such as cameras, electronic road signs, reversible lanes etc
