TITLE: Technical Data Analyst(EDI)
DURATION: 6 months to 1 year
LOCATION: Houston, TX
MUST HAVE EXP WITH EDI AND CUSTOMER BILLING
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
· 5 - 7+ years of experience as a Technical Data Analyst working with EDI
· Experience working with metered EDI data and EDI transaction codes such as: 810, 814, 820, 824; Strong understanding of X12
· Experience dealing with very high volumes of EDI transactions in industries such as Retail Electricity/ Utility or Banking Industry
· Experience working with tabular data, working wtih structured and unstructured data, and the ability to work and think in rows and columns.
· Strong ability to visualize/interpret transactional data and the flow of data
· Good SQL knowledge; Experience running queries against RDBMS
· Excellent communication skills with ability to be highly collaborative with both business users and ETL developers
Technical Data Analyst
· Data Analyst that will have a focus on analyzing detailed and complicated data, as well as a resource that understands the business
· Business Challenge Gexa trying to solve: Gexa currently utilizes a third party to assist with billing. Looking to bring in resource who can take the same data used for billing to analyze and extract data for the following: predictive analytics, electrical usage, peak usage times, anticipated demand based upon these times, times when usage decreases, etc. This data can be extracted from the billing data with doing detailed analysis and will help them with customers and revenue growth.
· 6 months, with possibility to extend out to the end of ERCOT release (Sept 2017)
Candidate's qualifications
· Sr Tech Data Analyst- 7+ years experience
· Ideally and highly preferred from Retail utility sector- companies such as Reliant, Spark, Champion, El Paso, etc.
· EDI, understanding of metered EDI (also said candidate from banking industry could fit due to number and volume of transactions that are present)
o Transaction codes such as 810, 814, 820, 824, understanding of X12
· Need to have experience working with tabular data, have clear understanding of difference between structured and unstructured data, difference between primary and foreign key, can "work and think in rows and columns" and being able to visualize/interpret this data and the flow of data. Must understand how the data is being used.
· Need to have basic SQL knowledge and Exposure to an RDBMS (able to form queries against databases)
· Needs to have very good communication skills and ability to be highly collaborative. Will be working very closely with current ETL developers and Key business users or end users
· Plus would be someone with GISB/NAESB experience .
