Job Title: Software Engineer / Application Architect

Location: SFO, CA

Duration: 6 Months

Responsibilities:

• Be part of an engineering team that builds and supports amazing customer-facing products that provide innovative solutions to challenging business use cases, existing system and operational problems. 

• Design, develop and maintain responsive web applications providing awesome user experiences on desktop and mobile devices. 

• Build both front end and a highly scalable, high performing back-end APIs platform.

• Hands-on development. Write highest quality code with utmost attention to scalability, security and performance. 

• Collaborate closely with Engineering leadership, Product Managers, Designers, QA and other teams and business units to define, prioritize, sequence and scope business and functional requirements and drive results. 

• Accurately scope effort, identify risks and clearly communicate trade-offs with team members and other stakeholders. 

• Ship high quality products and features with an end-to-end mindset from conception to delivery and production support, owning specifications, quality, release deployments and monitoring of production health. 

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience designing and developing secure consumer-facing web applications.

• BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience.

• Experience with the full stack of software development. You have been there and done it, multiple times. You have strong back-end APIs (Restful) and impressive UI skills. You have strong experience building APIs platform. You know what works and what doesn't and how it all fits in with the latest front-end technologies.

• Experience building responsive Single Page Web Applications using modern front-end technologies.

  •  Prior knowledge of using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript or jQuery.

  • 1-2 years working knowledge of frameworks such as AngularJS, Backbone or React.

  • Test Automation: JSUnit, Jasmine, Karma

• Strong experience writing RESTful APIs and middle tier coding in Node.js & Java.

• Proven experience in at least a few of the following technologies. The more the better:

  • Spring Framework including, Spring MVC.

  • Web Services: Spring, Jersey, Apache CXF, Axis

  • Test Automation: JUnit, Mockito, Selenium, TestNG

  • Databases: Oracle, MySql, mongoDB, redis, cassandra

  • Distributed Cache: Ehcache, Coherence, Hazelcast

  • Build & CI Tools: maven, jenkins, grunt, npm, bower, etc.

• Knowledge of current trends and best practices in front-end architecture including security, performance, accessibility and usability.

• Experience with TDD, CI and CD.

• Developing and deploying applications on AWS or private cloud.

• Expertise in Software Design and Architecture.

• Scrum, Agile Process, Unit Testing & Test Driven Development.

• Strong problem solving and communication skills.

• Great business acumen with a passion to solve for the customer.
