Role – Sr. Data Architect
Location – Parsippany, NJ
Duration: contract
Description:
The Senior Solution Data Architect is responsible for warehouse data modelling, specifically with columnar database and MPP database design experience. Who has modeled extensively in Redshift (AWS), Veritica, SybaseIQ etc. Should be skilled and clear understanding of how to design models for vertical databases and multimode shared nothing technology. Responsible for architecting, designing and developing of BI and DW solutions spanning multiple business units and source systems.
Responsibilities:
Serve as technical lead and partner with members of the Business Intelligence
Participates in design and development of business intelligence solutions
Works with other architects, developers and data analysts to review requirements and data mart schemas for optimal performance of business intelligence solutions
Participates in on-going evolution, improvement, and automation of business intelligence solutions
Provides on-going support of data warehouses and marts – perform tuning, add new data and maintain hierarchies
Instantiates new data warehouses and marts to support new customer requirements and subject areas
Works with application developers and data analysts to maintain data warehouse and mart schemas for optimal performance and reuse
Participates in testing of all data warehouse and mart changes
Develop and maintain technical vision and roadmaps based on the key performance indicators (KPIs)
Lead the development of capabilities in all facets from strategic to tactical implementation and from conception to post deployment
Ensure smooth ongoing operations of data platform with high availability while making continuous improvements
Help key users across the entire organization to understand and consume the data sets and platform for enhanced decision making and analytics
Advance the data architecture and platform and ensure adherence to key architectural tenets and best practices
Design and implement relational and dimensional models
Qualifications:
15+ years of IT experience with, 6+ years of database design and data architecture experience
Extensive knowledge of data warehouse, data architecture and best practices
Experience delivering large scale, business critical data platforms and features
Experience with technologies Redshift (AWS), Veritica, SybaseIQ etc.
Deep experience with data modeling and BI tools & Strong data modeling skills (relational, dimensional and flattened)
Familiarity with both established and emerging data technologies and the ability to evaluate and ascertain their applicability to the business
Strong knowledge of data warehouse concepts including: data modeling, data quality, ETL, reporting, analytics, and visualization.
Hospitality domain knowledge is a PLUS
