Job description:
Primarily we want developers with scripting capabilities. The primary languages we are using now are bash and perl. Having windows batch scripting is a nice to have. Going forward, we are looking to use Configuration Management tools which means that having an understanding of Ruby would be beneficial. They must have the ability to work in both windows and linux and understand how to diagnose issues on either type of operating system. Knowledge of network protocols and configurations are needed in this environment.
They should have experience with source control and bug tracking software ( Jira )
They must be able to think critically and be capable of working with minimal supervision.
If they have a background in C or Java, that would be slightly helpful, but it's not a significant requirement for this position.
