Position: Sr. Backend Developer with Python/GitHub

Type: 6 month Contract to Hire (They will hire H1 transfers after 6 months)

Location: Financial District, SF

 

*Provide GitHub and/or code samples with submission

 

Notes:

Looking for people with 4+ years experience with either Python, Rails, or Scala. Also, they should have an active presence on GitHub, have previously worked in a startup environment and be an excellent culture fit. 

 

Description:

We are looking for a full-time senior backend engineer to join the team and help build out our product. We are looking for people who want to work in an environment where you get to really make a difference in what the product and company become. This is a really amazing opportunity to be one of the first members of our Engineering Team in San Francisco!

 

Must Haves

·        4-5+ years of relevant engineering experience

·        Expertise with Python (Django a plus), Ruby, or Java

·        Strong OO knowledge

·        TDD/BDD believer and advocate

·        Ability to translate a complex problem into a diagram that a child could understand

·        Experience working on a SOA

·        Eagerness to support and mentor less experienced members of the team

 

Nice to Haves

·        Desire to solve hard problems, especially ones related to processing large amounts of data

·        Interest in scalable web technologies (Distributed Computing, Large-Scale Document Stores, Cloud-Computing DevOps)

·        Efficient code reviewer

·        Experience working with SQL and NoSQL data stores

·        Join a team who believe in what they're building. It's awesome.
