Position:  VMWare Admin

Location:  Northbrook, IL

Duration:  3 months (Extendable)

 

JD

·         L2/3 – Engineer Activities

·         Building VMWARE Host, environments

·         Patching, upgrades, migrations

·         Troubleshooting, provide suggestions, improvements and automations ideas

·         Pre-release preparations and deployment during the release weekend

·         Upgrade of server firmware and other maintenance activities

·         There are 8000+ VM and 1000 + Host

 

Lead Activities

·         Work with Onsite team on planning activities such as, migration planning, patching, upgrades

·         Prepare project plan and schedules

·         Work the Release manager for slotting for deployments in production, test and dev environments

·         Coordination with other infrastructure partners for the deployment

·         Communication of scheduled activities and coordination with clients and stakeholders

·         Address any questions / queries from the clients and stakeholders

 

Environment Knowledge

·         VMWARE

·         Knowledge of scripting – build Automation scripts are available. But if the scripts fails then resource should be able to troubleshoot or enhance /  modify 

·         HP Server Blades

·         Cisco routers

·         OS – Red Hat Linux 12.x

·         HP OO for Orchestration
