Test Analyst - Java Applications

Qualifications:
Our client is seeking a Test Analyst with a good knowledge of Testing Processes, Testing Tools and who understands customer driven focus. This resource will require technical background testing web applications and be able to independently manage their own work with little oversight. The resource will be joining an existing team testing custom developed software applications and will assist test leads in managing day-to-day system test and regression testing activities. They will provide functional knowledge and test environment support as necessary. The individual will be expected to understand the application requirements and system design and ensure compliance through test processes. The ideal candidate will have experience with Test Link and Trac and will also be well experienced in using MS Excel with an expert in formulas and VB Macros.
Skill set and job responsibilities:
· Manage the defects for Stakeholder testing across ALL Stakeholder areas.
· Perform defect management and act as escalation point within Test organization
· Actively participate in triage team meetings to assist with determining proper ownership and escalation of defects.
· Facilitate team status/checkpoint meetings as necessary
· Communicate Testing status, metrics throughout Testing activities.
· Facilitate Defect meetings as necessary
· Help facilitate the defect triaging meetings.
Technical Skills & Experiences include:
· Working knowledge with XML, XSL and JavaScript
· Exposure/experience in requirements gathering and review
· Experience coordinating onsite and offsite teams
· Ability to understand design documentation and apply this in order to understand how to validate components
· Understanding of the software development lifecycle
· Create and execute Test Cases
· Maintain Test Artifacts
· Identifies regression cases and automate Test Cases
· Works effectively with offshore Test resources
· Understand how to Log, Track and Verify defects
· Participate in reviews of Test Artifacts
· Experience with testing w/ multiple browser - i.e. IE, Chrome, Sarfari, etc.
· Exposure/experience with customer print operations
· Experience creating project issues/risks
· High level understanding of JAVA development
· Experience gathering non-functional requirements
