Position: Business Analyst (face to face interview after telephonic)
Location: St. Petersburg, FL
Duration: 6+ months
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be responsible for working with the business operations, store systems, and application development teams to facilitate project discovery, elicit requirements, and support the application through the development life cycle and into steady state.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Elicit and document requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
•Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from underlying needs.
•Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: use cases, user stories, mockups, business rules, workflows.
•Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
•Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
•Serve as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team.
•Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
•Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work-related experience with a minimum education requirement of HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience:
•5+ years of business analysis for rapid development projects is required, experience in Big 5 consulting firms or top tier systems integration firms preferred.
•Experience with full life-cycle software development projects desired.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and SMEs.
•Ability to articulate design concepts and solutions verbally and in written documentation.
•Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Proficiency in Enterprise Architect, Blueprint Requirements Center, and Jira are a plus.
•Experience working with a structured methodology such as RUP or "agile" software development process.
•Ability to work independently with minimal direction, experience managing small teams preferred
•Strong categorization/information organization skills.
•Must be able to work well in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
•Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
