Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location : Emeryville CA the person needs to be local

Qualifications:

 

 

 

Four year college degree in software or electrical engineering or computer science plus a minimum experience of five years developing Software as  a Service or Enterprise Services Oriented Applications.

 

 

 

Requires expert level knowledge with Java, RDBMS (PostgreSQL preferred), Networking, Unix/Linux and distributed systems with emphasis on backend server-side software development. RESTful API development expertise an excellent understanding of software development "best practices" and lifecycle issues (scalability, manageability and deploy ability) and test driven development frameworks (JUnit).

 

Strong Java Enterprise (JEE) knowledge/skills (eg: EJBs, App Servers (JBoss, Spring, etc) and version control tools (Subversion, Git) and Continuous Integration tools (Hudson/Jenkins).

 

Strong scripting skills (Python, bash) and proficient in one or more additional languages such as: Perl, C/C++, Ruby, Scala.

 

Experience working with shell scripts, JAVA, Service Oriented Architecture and XML files. Requires an excellent understanding of QA process and software development lifecycles.

 

 

 

Familiarity with jar/war files repository management tools such as Maven, Nexus or Artifactory as well as managing deployment tools for java applications such as Fuse or Fabric8 is highly desirable

 

 

 

Good time-management and self-management skills, proven ability to identify issues that need to be resolved determine and implement solution to complicated system/software problems.
