Job Description:
Design, implement and support database management systems utilizing corporate data. Provide assistance and support for database design, architecture, performance, standards, availability, system integrity and accessibility. Provide data management through the development and maintenance of data models and data element standards and definitions. Serve as part of a project team to develop and document data models or design, implement, and support the physical database; Implement database access security. Monitor implementation adherence to application security requirements. Review and optimizes application SQL code. Provide support for business systems to maintain the availability and integrity of corporate data during and outside of normal working hours.
Five (5) years' experience administering DB2 LUW DBMS with a minimum of 2 years' experience developing physical models, administering and developing partitioned data warehouse databases, and implementing data warehouse solutions such as IBM Balanced Configuration Unit. Experience in implementing and supporting features of ver 9.x of DB2 LUW such as row compression and table range partitioning. Experience in shell scripting is a must.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing DBA admin activities to a big number of critical customer-facing applications; the resource will have the mandate to ensure compliance to the security and audit policies and the DB2 LUW ver 9.5/9.7 evergreening initiative for those applications. He/she will also be supporting the WAS sessions databases related to those internet applications. The resource will also be an active contributor to the physical modeling efforts that mandates a solid understanding of the business models and requires extensive meetings with the logical.
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a major or minor in Computer Science or related field.
Minimum of six years of experience in a corporate / enterprise environment.
We are looking for someone to work in a very complex environment. Must have experience with mulit partitioning (5+) and able to do the scripting from scratch. Not just someone who uses tools to do shell scripting.
