Security Engineer
Location: RTP, NC
Provide technical leadership in areas of information technology across the Quintiles infrastructure. This is a short term need for an IT security engineer for a highly visible initiative related to enhancing the Quintiles mobile platform. Would like someone to start ASAP and able to work on multiple tasks associated with mobile platform and security.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop detailed engineering specifications and deployment plans from architectural specifications for the most complex environments. Determine overall technical requirements for server and storage hardware and software, as well as the integration of network, security and any other infrastructure needs.
Review complex critical application and infrastructure environments and ensure appropriate lifecycle viability and support. Ensure existing environments are appropriately engineered and provisioned and with the operational teams to address problem areas.
Develop and maintain a health scorecard for critical application environments within Quintiles. This includes server and storage hardware and software, monitoring tools, network connectivity, availability of maintenance or warranty, failover capability, etc.
Establish procedures for globally consistent installation qualification for non-infrastructure components within Quintiles infrastructure and may have a particular emphasis on specialized areas of Technology.
Provide consulting services for IT Infrastructure configuration and engineering and may have a particular emphasis on specialized areas of technology.
Mentor junior staff and provide training when required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Mobile SSO
Mobile VPN solutions (architecture, functionality, implementation)
Mobile Device Management (ideally MobileIron)
Active Directory
Authentication protocols inc. NTLM, Kerberos, SAML, HTTP forms, HTTP basic
Solution architecture, design and implementation
Requirements specification
Test plan authoring and execution
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science / related field and 7 years IT experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
