Position: Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Duration: 6 to 12+ months

 

Job Details:

Industry type: Streaming Multimedia  - Enhanced TV / DTV / IPTV / Cable-Modem

 

This role is for someone with good C/C++ coding skills and kernel-mode driver development on Linux or similar *NIX type platform along with a thorough understanding digital TV / internet based streaming multimedia platforms. 

 

Highly desirable (as many):

·         Should have preferably set-top box (STB) experience, preferably Cisco / Motorola / Arris or similar.

·         Familiarity with Cisco (or similar) Headend

·         How STB interact with Headend, bandwidth management, ports handling &c

·         Should be able to handle field issues, engage in training activities - drive development folks to make changes as required in the application layer.

·         Strong C and/or C++ programming skills with good knowledge on set-top box (STB) platforms and RTOS (preferably embedded Linux or similar) is expected for this requirement.

 

Desirable: Enhanced TV Binary Interchange Format (EBIF) understanding

Education: An AA / Undergrad (BS-level) degree in Comp Sc / EE / Electronics &c, or an equivalent combination of technical certifications thru' competent authorities / accredited institutes and verifiable professional experience.
