Position 1:
PHP Developer (Back-End)
New Providence, NJ
6 +Months Contract

 

We are looking for an experienced PHP architect/developer to develop/maintain web services in a high- transaction/low-latency service-oriented architecture. This job requires a high level of collaboration and knowledge sharing with other developers and testers.

 

Responsibilities:
Software design and development for a high-volume Internet product line

 

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Background:
8+ years of experience in software design and development utilizing PHP
Demonstrated abilities in creating web pages, services and APIs
Proficiency with object-oriented development and MVC design patterns
Recent experience developing: PHP 5.5, PHP Web Services, SOAP, JSON, REST, WSDL, XML and XML Schemas on *NIX platform.
Working knowledge of Laravel, Eloquent ORM, RabbitMQ
Working knowledge of Apache server setup and administration
Experience with automated unit and integration testing
Strong knowledge of Linux scripting using Perl or Python
Knowledge of SQL database technologies such as Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server, and PostgreSQL
Experience with automation technologies such as a Puppet/Jenkins is a plus
Experience with maintenance of C#.NET web services is a plus
Experience with NoSQL database technologies (MongoDB, Cassandra, Hadoop) and search engine technologies (Lucene/Solr) is a plus

Position 2:
PHP Developer (Front-End)
New Providence, NJ
6-12 +Months Contract

 

Design, Architect, and develop new web site platform for Lawyers.com and Martindale.com based on open-source components. Work on transition project to move the applications to PHP using modern frameworks.

 

Education/Experience
Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent training required. 8-10 years experience required.

 

Responsibility level
Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor

 

Skills
Very Strong PHP 5.5 skills in developing public websites in a distributed, multi-platform, clustered environment (Required)
Strong knowledge of database modeling and design.
Must have experience implementing ORM such as Eloquent in an MVC framework such as Laravel (Required)
Strong knowledge of database access coding against Postgress. (Highly desired)
Strong JavaScript, CSS, JQuery skills (or equivalent) and experience (Required).
Bootstrap and AngularJS skills (Highly desired).
Strong knowledge of XML (Required).
Experience building web services using PHP (Highly desired)
Experience with strict code management and controlled deployment processes (Required)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required)
Strong ability to work independently and manage one's time (Required)
Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback of off-shore staff (Required).
Good working knowledge of SEO and website analytics. (Highly desired)
Experience in an Agile (quick iterations) development/support environment.

 

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, Coding, testing, debugging and supporting new platform build-out in PHP for Lawyers.com and Martindale.com
Perform code reviews and over-see and mentor off-shore PHP resources who contribute to the same projects.
Create work effort estimations. Contribute and commit to project plans for upcoming releases
Contribute to second-level production support for new platform code.
Maintain understanding of current web technologies and programming practices.

 

Position 3:
PHP Developer
New Providence, NJ
6-12 +Months Contract

 

Candidates are expected to be fluent in PHP5, JavaScript, HTML and CSS, as well as having a strong grasp and interest in the Web 2.0 philosophy. Candidates are also expected to have experience working with RESTful and SOAP based API. Experience in automation is required. Past experience with Subversion applications or a source code management tool is a plus.

 

You will be expected to work comfortably or be knowledgeable with the following tools and languages:
Object-orientated PHP5
Experience with PHP Frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter or a general understanding of MVC frameworks
Familiarity with PHP ORM's such as Eloquent or RedBeanPHP
RESTful API Experience (and experience with PHP cURL library)
Experice with Command Line based PHP scripting.
MySQL/PostgreSQL and/or Oracle Databases
HTML and current CSS styling
JavaScript, jQuery or Prototype experience is a plus.
Linux command line, BASH, and writing shell scripts
Subversion or GIT source code management tools
