Location: Dallas, TX 

Position Type:  Long-Term Contract (with the possibility of extensions )

 

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Senior Object-Oriented / Open Source Web Developers will play a key role in the integration of two of our client's enterprise-level applications with a partner in Canada (some travel to Canada will be required as needed). In addition to integrating these applications, the Senior Object-Oriented / Open Source Web Developers will also create and enhance functionality of our client's systems.  The Senior Object-Oriented / Open Source Web Developers will leverage source code control for integration with new and existing product codebase. The Senior Object-Oriented / Open Source Web Developers will design, develop and test new product functionality, add-ons or enhancements.  The Senior Object-Oriented / Open Source Web Developers will create Feature Implementation Documentation and API Documentation. The Senior Object-Oriented / Open Source Web Developers will write commented code that meets the proscribed coding standards.  Additionally, the Senior Object-Oriented / Open Source Web Developers will develop algorithms for complex problems that are time and space efficient.

 

Development Breakdown

·         50% – Object-Oriented / Open Source (Perl / PHP / Ruby, etc.) Development

o        The current application was developed in Web-Based Perl 5.  It is not critical that all candidates have hands-on experience with Perl, however to be considered, candidates MUST possess the willingness to work with Perl as an Object-Oriented Language.

·         50% – JavaScript / JavaScript Library / HTML / CSS Development

 

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

5+ years of experience in the following skill sets…

·         Object-Oriented Open Source Web-Based Development

o        Perl5 (STRONGLY preferred) / Python / Ruby / PHP Development

o        C# / .NET / C++ / Java Development

o        MVC Design Pattern (General Knowledge)

·         Front-End Development

o        HTML / CSS / JavaScript

o        JavaScript Libraries – JQuery / AJAX / EXT-JS, etc.

o        JavaScript Frameworks

·         Versioning / Revision Controls / Integration – Tools / Development

o        SVN – Apache Subversion

o        GIT – Distributed Revisioning / SCM – Source Code Management

·         Product Development Familiarity

o        Eclipse IDE – Integrated Development Environment

o        LAMP Stack – Linux / Apache / MySQL / PHP

·         Excellent (Written / Verbal) Communication Skills
