Opportunity:
· This company has the need for a new database system that will contain both structured and unstructured data pertaining to system health, configuration, and support of various devices.
· Anticipation over time that the information that is collected will expand to cover many more devices and device types that will cause scalability conflicts within the scope of the current limits on current production data storage systems.
· This system will have added processes for routine maintenance as well as an ongoing support future upgrades and releases.
· It can use any combination of available SQL and/or NoSQL Structured and/or Unstructured databases that fit our organizational and financial requirements.
Skill Requirements:
· 10+ years of DB design management experience of traditional relational dimensional databases.
· Ability to design a database from scratch ER Diagrams
· Ability to absorb create tables through the use to standard ETL practices.
· Lead the analysis, design, development implementation of logical data models; physical database objects; data conversion, integration,loading processes; query reporting functions; data management and governance; and data quality assurance processes
· Ability to translate and understand relational multidimensional database design understands appropriate application for each.
· Develop and implements plans to oversee the DBA function, ensures smooth transition to new technology*Experience working with large datasets (4+ terabytes or larger in alive production system)
· Ability to Design, implement, maintain, administrate large scale "Big Data" systems.
· Ability to train additional technical staff in support best practices for these systems.
· Provide source to target ETL requirements and work with ETL Developers to ensure efficient transformation and loading.
· Can design, develop, test, and implement automated extract, transformation and load routines using tools such as: SQL, PL/SQL, and SSIS. Direct the research and evaluation of new tools and techniques and management and maintenance of related tools and environments.
· Understands cardinality can read and comprehend data models at the conceptual and logical levels as well as a general understanding of physical data models
· 5+ years of experience in working with the following: Hadoop, Cloudera, MongoDB, Teradata, Hive, Azure, splunk, etc.
· Provide engineering and design support for Hadoop builds and other big data prototypes, configuration, monitoring and supportability
· Experience with reporting and determining results for data accuracy, scalability and integrity on Hadoop platform
· Innovate practical NoSQL solutions to conquer scalability and distributed data processing challenges
· Have the ability to build archiving strategies, maintain data integrity, integrate big data reporting technologies, and support additional needs as required
· Have a proven record of database project experience with examples of recent work using unstructured data or non-traditional databases.
· Can develop and document data requirements and design specifications in the form of data models, data mappings and data quality metrics. Map out structure and organization of the relevant data for the company or project within the company.
· Design, develop and support a map-reduce-based data processing pipeline to process growing number of events from log files and messages per day
