Senior Network Engineer
Work Location : Houston , TX.
Duration : 6 Months+ Contract
Rate : Market
Mandatory Requirements
• 5+ years network engineering experience in a large Enterprise environment
• CCIE Route/Switch certification or equivalent knowledge
• Extensive experience with Enterprise WANs using carrier MPLS services.
• Experience with LAN and Wireless networks
• Ability to design and implement complex, large-scale network projects.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network operation and performance issues.
• Specific technical knowledge and experience with the following technologies:
o Routing – BGP, OSPF, NHRP
o Switching – VLANs, rapid-PVST+, VPC
o QoS and CoS
o Security -- Cisco DMVPN, VRF lite, IPSec tunnels
• Specific technical knowledge and experience with the following products:
o Network management and monitoring tools (CA Spectrum, NetQoS, etc.)
o Cisco Catalyst switches
o Cisco Nexus switches
o Cisco ISR and ASR routers
o Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and Wireless Access Points
o Riverbed WAN Optimizers
Desirable Requirements
• Security experience, especially:
o Experience with Cisco firewalls – ASA firewalls, and ISR built-in firewall functions
o Experience with "branch office in a box" and Unified Threat Management (UTM)
• Experience with PfR (Performance Routing)
• Knowledge of Cisco's iWAN design template
• Familiarity with data center networking in a virtualized environment using Cisco Nexus (7K, 5K, 2K, 1000V), Cisco UCS, and VMWare.
• Familiarity with Cisco MDS FibreChannel switches
• Familiarity with F5 Load Balancers
• Familiarity with Cisco Identity Services Engine
Duties
• Will initially be involved as senior network engineer for a technical refresh/rebuild of the enterprise WAN. This will include refresh of routers, MPLS circuits, and Internet circuits for DMPVN access and direct
Internet traffic offload.
• Additional projects will be in the areas of routing, switching, data center networks, and potentially security.
• Oversees the design of complex networks and assumes the technical lead for network projects.
• Demonstrates specialized network design expertise.
• Performs complex technical and analytical investigations for optimal network capacity, availability, and performance.
