Title: Oracle Retail Applications DBA
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: 5 months contract
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Oracle Retail Applications DBA will be responsible the technical sizing, implementation and configuration of the Oracle Middleware and Oracle Retail application stack. The candidate will work with the client infrastructure teams to deliver High Availability and DR and with project teams to deliver stable and scalable technical solutions.
Responsibilities:
· Overall accountability for the installation, support and maintenance of the Oracle Retail (MOM, SIM, RIB, POS) software infrastructure.
· Install, Configure and Upgrade Oracle Retail applications and databases (Oracle RDMBS 11g, RMAN, DataGuard)
· Install, configure and support Weblogic application server (Weblogic 11g)
· Evaluate and apply patches for the Oracle Retail suite and Oracle Middleware.
· Partner with Infrastructure groups to improve application build automation (e.g. develop automated build / compilation routines, , data refresh strategy)
· Monitor system availability and manage performance of the applications running on Oracle Retail
Manage storage and hardware capacity growth planning.
· Provide support to development/QA team with performance tuning database and application code
· Maintain High Availability for Oracle Retail application and database tiers
· Code deployment and migrations for Oracle Retail from non-production environment to production environments
Deep knowledge of Oracle Retail tech stack; ideally with recent experience implementing a v13 instance.
· Understanding of Oracle Retail technology stack, tools and architecture
· Experience with Oracle 11g RDBMS, Oracle 10.1.3 App Server, Weblogic 11g, Oracle AQ RIB, Oracle RAC, Linux, Oracle Dataguard, etc
· Experience managing technical implementations in large-scale projects
· Experience tuning application and database performance issues
· Experience with capacity growth planning in a large scale, complex technical environment
