This is our direct client opening for a Software Test Engineer located in Reno, NV. This is 4+ month contract (potential contract to hire) position.
Job description
We are looking for a rock star Software Test Engineer with a passion for testing and ensuring quality in cutting edge mobile applications that customer’s value. You need to be a leader in the constant improvement of your team’s test automation practices at the unit, services/integration, and UI layers You will enjoy sharing your brilliant ideas and having fun with your co-workers every day. All this and enjoy the many indoor and outdoor activities that Reno and the Lake Tahoe area has to offer.
You will have the experience to set up a test environment that includes Ruby on Rails, Cucumber, Calabash, Java, My SQL and Android
As a Senior Software Test Engineer on our team, you will need an open-minded approach to working with cutting edge Lean and Agile Software Development techniques such as Scrum, Kanban, XP. We want a Software Quality Engineer (SQA Engineer) who has a true passion for development, a developer background would be a plus.
Additional notes:
Needs to be experienced hands on test engineer able to come in and set up our test unit in a very small start up agile team.
Around 5 years experience needed in testing in a BDD/Cucumber, Ruby-on-Rails, Java, Jira in mobile development environment. The ultimate candidate would be a Ruby developer with a lot of QA/test experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work in a cutting edge agile software development environment to ensure the quality of our enterprise mobile software solutions, for tablets and phones on Android, iOS and HTML5
Gain a technical and functional understanding of our product architecture and become part of our ongoing feature and enhancement development effort
Communicate with product analyst in creating acceptance tests as part of the requirements, and execute those tests manually, as well as automate them
Manage the agile team's test case inventory
Write automated tests at the unit, services/integration, and UI layers, using Java, Ruby on Rails, Cucumber, Calabash, Jira, and many more of the latest software automation tools including your own
Provide technical guidance and training to other members of Quality Assurance, Software Engineering, Product Management and Product Support
Work proactively with members of an Agile team to find and fix defects in our product architecture
Write SQL code as part of data setup, as well as to verify test results in manual and automated testing
Talk directly with real customers to make sure your great products deliver real business value
Integrate customer feedback into our products
Education & Experience:
A minimum of 8 years of experience is required; 9 to 11 years of experience is preferred.
