Job Description:
Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills:
Must have:
· 8+ years’ experience with good knowledge of DB2 version 9.1 on the z/O platform
· Must have worked on Mainframe TSO & ISPF experience, Experience of mainframe test and development environments, JCL coding,REXX
· Must have experience with large to very large databases in the 10TB and larger range.
· Candidate should be familiar with DB2 utilities and how to trouble-shoot using IBM DB2 and AIX commands.
· Proficiency in the use of DB2 Object migration, management and monitoring tools
· Effective utilization and monitoring of DB2 storage and experience in capacity planning
· Working experience with Database logical and physical design concepts and techniques
· Database Definition Language (DDL)
· Extract Transform and Load (ETL) tools
Roles and responsibility:
· Incident and Service Desk request management.
· Interacting with customer and focus on discovering customer needs and finding out how to best meet them.
· Ability to prioritize tasks, execute them by complying to processes and towards timely completion. Follow all the customer processes.
· Provide timely status reporting to the customer.
· Work with offshore team on day to day basis
· Proactive and should be able to work independently or as part of a team
· Good communication and analytical skills
· Client / Vendor interaction, responding to their requests in a timely and appropriate manner
· Status and metrics reporting
· Provides DB2 security, provide assistance for BIND problems
· Monitors and tunes database performance during testing and production operations; coordinates and implements database sizing/resizing, restructures and index rebuilds; assists with capacity planning for future database growth; documents benchmarks and procedures needed to optimize performance; ensure that all performance guidelines are followed
· Maintains detailed knowledge of all database administration processes, procedures, and quality standards
Desirable Technical / Functional Skills:
Good to have:
• Retail domain knowledge, Project lead/management experience is plus
