Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY The Self Service Management team is responsible for creating multiple web portal applications to assist in the management of self service devices. Application focus on: Inventory Management, Software Distribution, Device Management, Help Desk Workflows… Applicant will contribute to the development of Web/Application Servers on the JBoss, Tomcat, etc. platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Develop high quality software which meets requirements, promote re-use of software components and facilitates ease of support.
• Diagnose, isolate, and implement remedies for system failures caused by errors in software code.
• Identifies and implements process improvements in Engineering practices.
• Utilize software-based system maintenance and tracking tools.
• Provide input and technical content for technical documentation, user help materials and customer training.
• Conduct unit tests, track problems, and implement changes to ensure adherence to test plan and functional/nonfunctional requirements
• Participates in code review and unit test review sessions.
• Create high fidelity estimates of their own work efforts.
• Applies good debugging and troubleshoot techniques to understand and resolve a defect found in software.
• Creates high quality documentation as required like functional specifications; unit test specifications.
• Learns and applies test methodology, processes, procedures, standards and tools used by team and applies as and when required.
• Possess good understanding of Agile development principles and practices.
• Develops and improves test driven development while producing software.
• Uses and tries to improve Agile tools being used in the development.
• Becoming familiar with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma Lean principles.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 1- 2 years of related experience out of which at least 1 year should be in Java.
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field
• Should be strong in Object Oriented analysis and design using Spring framework
• Experience in development of Web/Application Servers: JBoss, Tomcat…
• Good understanding of Software Development and Quality Assurance best practices
• Good debugging and troubleshooting techniques
• Ability to understand technical requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
• Experience with relational databases and data mining/OLAP
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in web services and Oracle/SQL Server/MySQL experience added advantage
• Experience with Hibernate also an added advantage
• Experience with Java-related technologies such as JMS, JTA, etc. is an added advantage
• Worked in any Software Development Life Cycle model – added advantage if already worked in Agile environment
• Experience with development tools used for unit test automation and continuous improvements: Added advantage if possess knowledge for – Jira, Hudson, Subversion 90 days temp to perm if position is available
