Job Description       

Provide professional consultant to join Portal consolidation RUP/IEP-ITE Build-Out project in support of the contract. Throughout the course of the contract, the Subcontractor professional consultant shall participate in the design and build-out of the RUP applications hosted by a third party vendor and support migrations of these sensitive applications to the Client hosted Portals environment. The Subcontractor professional consultant shall participate in Technical architecture work sessions for the existing and future portal design. The Subcontractor professional will assist with detailed design creation and build-out of the transactional portal environment. The Subcontractor professional consultant shall review, mentor, and provide technical guidance to other project team members as appropriate.

 

This resource will be primarily responsible for installing, supporting and maintaining servers or other computer systems, and planning for and responding to service outages and other problems. In addition, this resource will perform periodic scripting/programming of their particular system, throughout the life of the project. Duties include providing hands-on analysis of issues, issue reporting, and incident management. This resource will train other operators on system parameters to meet needs. Provide in-depth insight into performance management issues, and assist with the correction.

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of WebSphere Application Server 7.x, 8.x and Apache HTTP server environments.
• Knowledge of HTML, Java, Java Script, C and UNIX shell programming.
• Knowledge of Linux, zLinux, z/OS UNIX System Services
• Experience developing automated solutions in a Distributed computing environment
• The ability to multitask and work in a team environment is a must
• Experience in routine maintenance and upkeep, such as changing backup tapes or replacing failed drives in a RAID.

 

Responsibilities:

• Installation and application deployment. Monitoring the JVM performance by WebSphere Heap Size, garbage collection, JDBC Pools Responsible for Architectural Design, Implementation and periodic testing and support of Web Environments
• Administer and tune IBM WebSphere family products such as WebSphere Application Server 7.x, 8.x, Network Deployment, IBM HTTP Server
• WAS ND Installation and application deployment using J2EE Framework
• Domain Registration, SSL Certificate Maintenance, networking, TCP/IP, Ethernet, DNS, 3DNS, DHCP
