Job Title: DevOps/ Linux Engineer
Job Location: Woonsocket, RI
Duration: 6+Months
Mode of Interview: Phone then Skype
VISA:USC,GC ONLY
This position will work to increase velocity of change, with highest quality and amplified feedback of configuration changes to all stakeholders in the release process. They will work to incrementally implement devops best practices for deployment & configuration of existing and new CVS Health Enterprise Digital applications. This person will leverage open source tools & technologies to provide consistent repeatable deployments to multiple environments that reduce downtime & issues while increasing quality across the enterprise.
This contractor will be the SME for implementation of new streamlined deployment and configuration processes for CVS Health Digital Retail. They will work with the team to design and implement multiple projects that will align with our long term (2+ years) environment goals. There may be the opportunity to transition to FTE status.
It is preferred that the contractor has implemented a complete devops stack in a prior assignment and has 3-5 years' experience with devops, development or infrastructure.
Requirements:
§ Advanced User of Linux or Unix-like systems. Candidate needs to be super comfortable manipulating Linux environments. Needs to be proficient in a form of shell scripting such as BASH.
§ Is comfortable programming in one of the following languages:
§ Python, Ruby, Go
Knows development tools such as:
· Version Control (Git, SVN)
· Continuous Integration (Jenkins)
· Continuous Delivery
· Test Driven / Behavior Driven Development
Has worked with and has proficiency with DEVOPS tools in the following areas:
· Provisioning (Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible)
· Cloud environments (OpenStack)
· Virtualized containers / environments (Docker / RKT, VirtualBox)
· Container Environments (CoreOS, Kubernetes)
· Orchestration (Heat, Docker Compose)
Distributed Configuration Management (ETCD, Consol)
Application specific knowledge (Familiarity) with the following:
Firewall (Cisco), Loadbalancer (F5, Cisco), CDN (Akamai), DNS, Web Application Firewall
Experience Configuring and working with:
· Apache, JBoss, Websphere, Node.js
Bonuses:
· Deep knowledge of Automated Testing and Validation strategies for DEVOPS
· Oracle ATG, IBM Sterling OMS
· Vordel, DBPL, ESL
· Oracle, MariaDB, DB2
Tips:
· Must have experience with Automation, Devops and Linux
· Looking for candidates who step and be a driver for devops best practices
· This is a hands on position, implementing projects, mini projects off to the side to set up infrastructure, small projects for the long run
· This positon will go perm, full time eventually. Looking for someone to develop devops from scratch
· Background – Looking for someone with a Linux background, Ital candidate will be a Linux Hacker / Linux Engineer, They wants this person to jump in and help write scripts, must have a deep understanding of computers
