z/OS Systems Programmer

Location: Menomonee Falls, WI
Duration: 12+ months

 strong z/OS System Programmers that have installation and system upgrades experience. Excellent communication skills are a MUST and candidates must sit onsite.

Job Description:

Have responsibility for installation and maintenance of Z/OS, JES2 on four LPAR Sysplex and one LPAR on a Monoplex on a zEC12 machine.

Responsibilities

·         Provide support for the zOS operating systems

·         Install and maintain Independent Software Vendor (ISV) system products as required on the zOS/zVM mainframe

·         Implement projects to customize operating system software to support the customer environment.

·         Provide technical support to the customer Application Development organization.

·         Provide technical support to Data Center Operations

·         Provide technical and operational support for Disaster recovery tests.

·         Coordinate hardware and software installations in the customer Data Centers.

·         Provide technical justifications for hardware and software upgrades

·         Work closely with hardware and software vendors regarding problem resolution and regarding new products and services.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in MVS systems programming
• Experience in upgrading zOS operating systems on IBM Business Class mainframe zEC12, z13 or higher
• Specific knowledge of zOS-related products such as JES2, RACF, VTAM, TCPIP,SYNCSORT, TSO,ISPF, SSH.
• General knowledge of all software/hardware components on zOS systems.
• Experience with CICS and DB2 installation and support a plus.
• Experience with Security 'hardening' a plus.
