Position: Cisco VOIP Administrator Location: Carlsbad, CA Duration: 6+ months Responsibilities: - Install, configure, and maintain Cisco network server equipment and operating systems
- Utilize Cisco network management software and hardware to identify and correct problems with the data communications equipment ?
- Provide configuration and problem resolution support for the company's telephone system ?
- Along with other staff, evaluate and implement new technologies for data communications related to data, voice, and video ?
- Develop and support user programming required to monitor and maintain telephone system ?
- Attend instructor led and computer based technical training and then use this training to enhance ability to perform job and to obtain required certifications ?
- Lead efforts to diagnose and resolve complex system configuration, production and deployment problems ?
- Maintain inventory records for all equipment purchased, installed or controlled under Network Services ?
- Inspects all contract work completed for Network Services ?
- Perform equipment, software, and firmware updates as recommended by industry standards and directed by the Network Manager ?
- Researches and investigate new and current VoIP tools
Qualifications: - Managing data communications networks, local (LAN) and wide (WAN) area networks
- Supporting, maintaining, and configuring Cisco network equipment and operating systems
- Experience with Route Lists, Patterns, Hunt Groups and Global Directory administration experience
- Knowledge of Ethernet network topologies both LAN and WAN
- Server experience on Cisco UCS, Exchange 2010 and Active Directory with ability to extend this knowledge into Cisco Call Manager Telephony, Unity Voice Mail, Cisco IPCC applications and MS Lync
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager 8.x administrative experience
- Knowledge of basic telephony principals and VOIP protocols
- Perform routine system administration tasks including OS and application patches, upgrades and backups
- Experience with network security, QoS implementation and troubleshooting
- Must have competent computer skills in MS Office 2007 or 2010 Professional suite
Additional Qualifications: - Strong commitment for providing excellent customer service
- Document creation, briefing and interpersonal skills
- Must be proficient in English (written and verbal skills)
- Coordinating and working with others to resolve technical issues and problems
- Work around unusual noise levels, low or intense illumination, and moving objects
- Work alone for prolonged periods of time
