Title: SAP Basis Architect
Location: Seattle area, WA

Duration: 6 months or longer (could be 18 months)

Client is currently seeking a high performing SAP Basis Architect. The person in this role will be responsible for translating business needs into technical solutions, and defining solutions to problems through reasoned application of information technology. Designs, develops, documents and analyzes overall architecture of systems, including hardware and software. Determines integrated hardware and s oftware architecture solutions that meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability, and security needs. Coordinates design and integration of total system including subsystems. Researches and recommends technology to improve the current systems. The job requires deep SAP Basis expertise for the SAP Netweaver stack, LiveCache, TREX, Java, XI/PI, Solution Manager on Microsoft Windows/SQL server platforms.
Soft skills required for the role include the ability to work collaboratively with a range of different teams both internally and externally and the capacity to develop effective relationships with a range of parties including internal engineer teams, infrastructure teams, partners, third party providers, and internal users.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Experience working with SAP Basis and SAP related technologies required
- Experience with Capacity Planning and System Sizing
- Strong communication, presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's in Information Systems or equivalent required
- Partner with other architecture disciplines to develop reference architectures and best practices
- Identify and understand customer and operational requirements for both internal and external stakeholders and ensure that these are reflected in the project goals and milestones.
- Influence the strategic direction for how users and partners consume the SAP services.
- Act as the point of contact for internal users, stakeholders and external partners.
- Take full responsibility for ensuring that the project and service vision, strategies and roadmaps are identified, communicated, monitored and achieved.
- Ensure end-to-end service excellence through developing productive working relationships with internal and external teams including architects, engineers, project managers, stakeholders, partner teams, and management.
- Measure, monitor and communicate solution effectiveness throughout the defined service lifecycle.
- Ensure full support systems are established and maintained. Manage relationships between quality control and support tiers and collaborate with other service teams to ensure that problems related to the service you manage are solved in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement business processes and controls that support all engineering and operations teams. Take full accountability for service lifecycle processes for the services under your control. Oversee and approve production changes and manage such changes using appropriate tools and control techniques.
- Manage communications across users, business groups, stakeholders, and external partners. Coordinate service updates, incident and status reporting, lessons learned, service availability and cost reporting etc. Use effective written and verbal communication skills to maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.
Skills/Knowledge:
- 8-10 years of SAP BASIS Team Lead or Architecting experience
- Experience and passion for providing high-quality, reliable end user experiences and positive customer experiences.
- Ability to solve problems, think critically and develop strategic direction of the project.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills that allow you to influence stakeholders without authority.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Comfortable communicating with people at the highest level of management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong project management skills including planning, organizing, coordination and execution.
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships and deliver results with a range of stakeholders across various disciplines, including engineering, operations, and program management teams, in a rapidly evolving organization.
